Tips on Wearing Your Ice Vest
Fitting your Ice Vest
- With the ice packs installed, put on the vest
- Adjust the vertical measurements of the vest by adjusting the shoulder straps. Pull the strap through the rectangular ring and secure on the inside velcro area inside the vest.
- Close the front velcro closure.
- Pull the side bungee cords through the cord. Stop when the vest fits comfortably around your torso.
- You can tuck the excess cord into the front cord flaps: simply loop the cord around the button, then close the velcro flap over the excess cord.
- If you don't anticipate a need for further adjustments, feel free to trim the cord to your desired length.
Using your Ice Vest
- Remove the velcro ice packs from the inside of the vest and place in the freezer. (For fastest results, lay flat.)
- Once frozen, place the ice packs back inside the vest; lining them up with the corresponding velcro strips.
- Put on your vest and enjoy!
- The length of time your vest will remain frozen will depend on environmental conditions, however cooling will continue even after the ice has begun to melt.
- For best results, be sure ice is fully frozen.
Tips
- Wear a t-shirt or thicker garment underneath the Ice Vest for maximum comfort.
- Keep a second set of ice packs frozen, so that you always have a set handy when the first pack has been used.
- Install the ice packs so that the flat sides are facing the skin for maximum cooling.
Care Instructions
- To clean the ice itself: Remove the ice packs from their covering by using the zipper located on the back. Wipe the ice packs with a soft cloth and mild soap and rinse thoroughly. Wipe or air dry.
- To clean the vest: Remove the ice pack and place all fabric components of the vest in your washing machine on a cold setting with mild detergent. Tumble dry low or air dry.
